Takeo: Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet has underscored the necessity for Cambodia to persist with reforms to ensure its resilience and sustainable development in the face of ongoing challenges.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the Prime Minister, speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony of the Funan Techo Integrated Water Resources Management Project - Section II in Takeo province, pointed out that times of difficulty can often present opportunities for significant reforms. He likened the process to surgery, where necessary changes can be implemented even when they are painful.
The Prime Minister highlighted the series of challenges Cambodia has encountered in recent years, including the COVID-19 pandemic, trade-related issues, border disputes with Thailand, and the global energy crisis due to conflicts in the Middle East. Despite these obstacles, Cambodia has undertaken substantial reforms, focusing on streamlining and strengthening institutional frameworks while addressing existing deficiencies to boost national development.
Samdech Thipadei reiterated the importance of maintaining peace and stability, which requires continuous efforts and reforms. He stated that achieving lasting harmony and peace demands ongoing commitment and strengthening of the nation.
