Phnom penh: H.E. Prak Sokhonn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, held talks with Ms. Maha Damaj, the new UNICEF Representative to Cambodia, at the Ministry's Office in Phnom Penh this morning.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the meeting marked the beginning of Ms. Damaj's role in Cambodia, where she is expected to collaborate closely with the government on initiatives to improve children's welfare. The discussions between H.E. Prak Sokhonn and Ms. Damaj focused on strengthening cooperation in areas such as health, education, and child protection.
The appointment of Ms. Damaj comes at a time when Cambodia continues to work on enhancing the living conditions of its younger population. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation expressed optimism regarding the potential outcomes of this partnership with UNICEF under her leadership.
