Renault Korea’s sales up 10.4 pct in April over exports rise

Renault Korea Motors, the South Korean unit of Renault S.A., said Thursday its April sales rose 10.4 percent from a year earlier backed by increased overseas demand.

Renault Korea sold 10,572 vehicles in April, compared with 9,580 units sold a year earlier, the company said in a statement.

Exports jumped 13 percent to 8,792 units, while domestic sales slipped 1.2 percent to 1,780 units.

The company said it shipped 8,367 units of its Arkana model and 425 units of its QM6 model overseas last month.

A Renault Korea official said the company introduced new sales campaigns last month, including a corporate brand overhaul, ahead of the launch of new hybrid SUV model scheduled for release this fall.
