DPM Sun Chanthol Engages with Japanese House Representative on Economic Cooperation

Tokyo: H.E. Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), engaged in a working meeting in Tokyo with H.E. NISHIMURA Yasutoshi, former Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry and current Member of the House of Representatives of Japan. The meeting was conducted in a cordial atmosphere, underscoring the political trust and collaboration between Cambodia and Japan.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, accompanying the Deputy Prime Minister were H.E. Chum Sounry, Cambodia's Ambassador to Japan, along with leadership from the CDC and the Ministry of Commerce. The Deputy Prime Minister expressed appreciation for H.E. NISHIMURA's past efforts in promoting economic and trade ties, particularly Japanese investment in Cambodia.

During the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister highlighted Cambodia's socio-economic progress, infrastructure improvements, and the government's commitment to creating an open business environment under the new Law on Investment. He also reaffirmed Cambodia's dedication to addressing online scams.

H.E. NISHIMURA welcomed the Cambodian delegation and commended Cambodia's socio-economic development and political stability. He expressed his intent to enhance cooperation between the two nations and strengthen private sector relations.

The discussions are seen as a step toward deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership between Cambodia and Japan, aimed at mutual prosperity and stronger bilateral cooperation.
