Senate President Hosts Reunion for Returning Cambodian Soldiers and Families

Phnom penh: Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, the Senate President of Cambodia and leader of the ruling Cambodian People's Party (CPP), welcomed 18 Cambodian soldiers and their families at the January 7 Palace following their return to the country on December 31.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Spokesperson for the Senate and the CPP, Samdech Techo Hun Sen expressed his joy and warmly received the soldiers, acknowledging the emotional challenges they faced during their time apart from their families. He related to their experiences, recalling his own family separation during the struggle against the Khmer Rouge regime.

The Senate President conveyed his gratitude to the Royal Government of Cambodia for its commitment to the safety and well-being of soldiers. He emphasized his personal interest in the soldiers' circumstances throughout their deployment.

Samdech Techo also remarked on the concern shown by His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen Mother for the soldiers and all troops stationed along the border, highlighting the leadership's solidarity with those serving the nation.

He shared an emotional moment from watching the live broadcast of the soldiers' return, noting the heartfelt welcome they received from Cambodians nationwide. This, he stated, exemplifies the national unity and support for military personnel.

Concluding the gathering, Samdech Techo extended his wishes for health, happiness, and prosperity to the soldiers and their families.
