Phnom penh: H.E. Ms. Louise MUSHIKIWABO, Secretary-General of the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF), is set to embark on a working visit to Cambodia from March 1 to 4, 2026. The visit comes at the invitation of H.E. PRAK Sokhonn, the Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, during her visit, H.E. Ms. Louise MUSHIKIWABO will engage in a series of meetings with high-ranking Cambodian officials. These include a courtesy call on Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo HUN Sen, President of the Senate, Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei HUN Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, and H.E. Kittisethabindit CHEAM Yeap, First Vice-President of the National Assembly.
Additionally, the Secretary-General will hold discussions with H.E. Deputy Prime Minister PRAK Sokhonn to review the progress of preparations for the 20th Francophonie Summit. This summit, scheduled for November 15-16, 2026, in Phnom Penh, holds significance for both Cambodia and the broader Francophone community.
The visit underscores the commitment of the International Organisation of La Francophonie and Cambodia to strengthen their collaboration and enhance cooperation among Francophone stakeholders in the Asia-Pacific region and beyond, as highlighted in the press release.
