Phnom penh: The Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Women's Affairs have jointly launched the "MadeByHer" campaign, aiming to promote women-backed entrepreneurship and local products. The launching ceremony was held on April 2 at the Ministry of Commerce and presided over by H.E. Mrs. Cham Nimul, Minister of Commerce, and H.E. Dr. Ing Kantha Phavi, Minister of Women's Affairs. The event was attended by high-ranking officials from the two ministries and representatives of local handicrafts and enterprises.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Mrs. Cham Nimul emphasized the campaign's focus on promoting national products made by women. She highlighted the need for participation from all stakeholders based on solidarity, brotherhood, and mutual assistance. The campaign aims to support Cambodian women entrepreneurs in transforming small businesses into national brands with quality, standards, and market competitiveness.
The campaign will enhance product quality and packaging to meet consumer standards and market demands, expand access to new markets, and boost public outreach to support local products made by Cambodian women. It also seeks to introduce women-led products to supermarkets, trade fairs, and digital platforms, increasing market opportunities and local and international recognition.
H.E. Mrs. Cham Nimul noted that the "MadeByHer" campaign is part of the "MadeinCambodia" national product campaign launched on Feb. 14, 2026, focusing on promoting local products. She made several recommendations to leverage the campaign, urging women entrepreneurs in key sectors such as food processing, handicrafts, and textiles to participate and showcase their capabilities and potential.
The Minister also called for support from the private sector, financial institutions, and the media to promote women's products and create opportunities for women entrepreneurs in modern markets. She encouraged local handicraft producers to form associations to increase production and supply, and local investors to enhance value-added production chains.
Moreover, H.E. Mrs. Cham Nimul appreciated the commitment of local handicraft representatives and working groups in promoting local products. She expressed confidence that the "MadeByHer" campaign would connect producers and suppliers with market stakeholders, ensuring the sustainability and promotion of local products.
