Cambodian Red Cross to Provide Emergency Aid to 2,880 Displaced Families in Banteay Meanchey

Banteay meanchey: Samdech Kittiprittpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian Red Cross, has approved the provision of emergency humanitarian assistance to 2,880 displaced families sheltering in safety camps in northwestern Banteay Meanchey province after heavy rainfall worsened their living conditions.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the decision, made on Feb. 28, followed concerns over the hardships faced by displaced residents who have yet to return to their homes and have been affected by persistent rain while staying in temporary safety sites in O'Chrov and Thmar Puok districts.

Officials from the Cambodian Red Cross headquarters and its Banteay Meanchey branch will soon distribute relief supplies directly to the affected families. The assistance will include food items, basic household materials, and financial support donated by benefactors through the organisation.
