Cambodian and Philippine Chambers to Enhance Trade Relations

Phnom penh: The Cambodia Chamber of Commerce (CCC) is set to engage in a working meeting with the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, aiming to bolster institutional relations and enhance trade and investment ties between Cambodia and the Philippines. This significant meeting is planned to coincide with the upcoming 48th ASEAN Summit, which will take place in Cebu, the Republic of the Philippines, from May 7 to 8. The CCC delegation, led by Neak Oknha Kith Meng, President of CCC and Chair of ASEAN BAC-Cambodia, will accompany Samdech Thipadei Prime Minister and Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony Hun Manet at the summit.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the CCC delegation will engage in discussions with their Philippine counterparts to explore opportunities for collaboration in key sectors such as Finance, Investment, Agriculture, Food, Tourism, Real Estate, Construction, and the Electronics Industry. The meeting aims to provide a platform for Cambodian and Philippine business leaders to network and identify potential areas of mutual interest and cooperation.

Additionally, the CCC delegation plans to participate in various dialogues and business meetings at the ASEAN Summit to foster stronger relations with the broader ASEAN business community. This move is part of a broader strategy to integrate more deeply into regional economic dynamics and improve bilateral trade relations.

Recent data from the General Department of Customs and Excise of Cambodia indicates a significant increase in trade between Cambodia and the Philippines, with bilateral trade doubling to US$42 million in the first quarter of 2026. Cambodian exports to the Philippines accounted for US$30 million of this trade volume, highlighting the growing economic partnership between the two nations.
