Sihanoukville:More than 200 international tourists arrived in Cambodia on Friday aboard a luxury cruise ship that docked at Sihanoukville Autonomous Port.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the Bahamas-flagged cruise vessel Odyssey carried 236 passengers of 17 nationalities, including 135 women, and 166 crew members from 20 different countries. It safely docked at 830 a.m., and local officials from the Preah Sihanouk Provincial Administration warmly welcomed the passengers upon arrival.

The ship is set to make a five-day stopover in Cambodia from September 25 to 29, with plans for tourists to explore Cambodian culture, traditions, and economic development, particularly in Preah Sihanouk province. This region has benefited from special Royal Government investment incentives, which will continue from 2024 through 2027.

Port immigration authorities ensured smooth processing for the visitors, who are scheduled to visit coastal resorts, cultural sites, pagodas, and fishing villages across Sihanoukville. Highlights of their visit include iconic landmarks such as the Preah Thong and Neang Neak statues.

The Odyssey, measuring 195.82 meters in length, 22.5 meters in width, and with a draft of 5.3 meters, arrived from Vietnam and is scheduled to depart for Thailand at 700 p.m. on September 29. The majority of the passengers are American, Australian, and Canadian nationals. Among the arrivals, 32 passengers, including 19 women from three nationalities, traveled onward to visit Siem Reap province, while 38 passengers, including 22 women from six nationalities, are expected to board the ship for its outward journey.
