Phnom Penh:Cambodia and China celebrated their longstanding friendship and cultural connections with a Mid-Autumn Festival art performance at the Koh Pich Convention and Exhibition Centre. The event, held under the theme "Clouds Accompany the Moon, Deep Sentiment Among Good Neighbours," featured senior officials, diplomats, and cultural delegates from both nations.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Peng Bin, Deputy Head of the Publicity Department of the Yunnan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, emphasized the festival's cultural significance. He noted that the Mid-Autumn Festival symbolizes the Chinese people's aspirations for family reunions and harmony. The shared tradition of moon-gazing highlights close cultural ties between the Chinese and Cambodian peoples.

H.E. Peng also pointed out that although Chinese people celebrate with mooncakes, Cambodians have the Water Festival, Moon Festival, and Ork Ambok, which all reflect a deep-rooted affinity and mutual support between the two nations. He remarked on the "historical, ironclad friendship" that has grown under the strategic guidance of both countries' leaders.

Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. Wang Wenbin highlighted the importance of cultural exchange, stating that culture thrives through mutual learning. He expressed a desire to use this event as a starting point to deepen cooperation in news media, cultural exchange, tourism, and youth engagement. Ambassador Wang mentioned ongoing projects like the 4K documentary "Good Neighbour Cambodia," co-produced by Yunnan Radio and Television and National Television of Cambodia, and the Lancang-Mekong Audiovisual Week.

Cambodian Minister of Tourism H.E. Huot Hak described the two countries as "ironclad friends" with a shared history spanning over a millennium. He noted that tourism and people-to-people exchanges are essential bridges within their "Diamond Hexagon" cooperation framework. The Minister welcomed Chinese tourists and investors, assuring them of Cambodia's hospitality and favorable environment for travel and business.
