Yunnan International Centre Hosts Seminar on Short Video Trends for Developing Countries

Kunming: A seminar on “Short Video Creation and Communication for Developing Countries,” organised by the Yunnan International Centre for Economic and Technical Exchange (YICETE), began in Kunming, Yunnan province on Aug. 12, bringing together nearly 40 participants from 10 countries, including Cambodia.

 

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the seminar, running until Aug. 25, aims to equip participants with essential skills and knowledge in short video production, which is a crucial tool for modern communication and information dissemination.

 

During the opening ceremony, YICETE Director Mr. Li Rongkang mentioned that the seminar aligns with contemporary trends and the shared desire among countries to strengthen exchanges and cooperation. He emphasized the significance of the platform in providing participants from developing countries with insights into the development of China’s media industry and advanced practices in video creation.

 

Mr. Li also highlighted that China’s short video platforms, known for their rich content and innovative technology, have attracted millions of users and have become essential for showcasing Chinese culture and promoting economic growth.

 

The two-week seminar will offer foreign media professionals in-depth knowledge and skills in various aspects of short video creation, including planning, shooting, production, and dissemination. Additionally, field trips and exchange activities are scheduled to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of China’s cultural and economic development.

 

A member of the Cambodian delegation, Ms. Saing Manita, an advisor to the Ministry of Information of Cambodia, emphasized the seminar’s importance for effective communication and the growing role of technologies like AI. She expressed eagerness to learn from China’s advancements and to share Cambodia’s experiences in media for development.

 

Ms. Manita also noted the significance of this year as Cambodia and China celebrate the 67th anniversary of their diplomatic relations, a partnership strengthened by the Action Plan on the Implementation of the Strategic Partnership Cooperation Framework between the two governments. This framework has facilitated collaborations in radio and television broadcasting, information exchange, and digital media innovation, aligning with the seminar’s focus.
