Kampong chhnang: The U.S. government has provided some US$600,000 in funding, through the Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA), to support the Cluster Munitions Remnant Survey and Clearance Project in Eastern Cambodia.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the partnership agreement between the Cambodian Mine Action Centre (CMAC) and NPA on the above-said project was signed on Saturday during a visit to the CMAC Technical Institute of Mine Action in Kampong Chhnang province by a U.S. Congressional Delegation led by H.E. Adam Smith, U.S. Representative for Washington.
The project will run for five months, from December 2025 to April 2026. H.E. Heng Ratana, Director General of CMAC, expressed his appreciation to the U.S. government and people, through the U.S. Department of State, for their ongoing support in clearing explosive remnants of war (ERW) in Cambodia.
