Phnom penh: The United States has expressed its appreciation to Cambodian authorities for their professionalism and close cooperation in the successful arrest and removal of an American fugitive wanted in the United States on multiple felony charges.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the U.S. Embassy in Phnom Penh reported that Special Agents from the Diplomatic Security Service (DSS), through its Office of Overseas Criminal Investigations (OCI), collaborated with Cambodian law enforcement to locate and arrest the suspect in Cambodia. The individual was sought by U.S. authorities for felony possession of a firearm and multiple felony drug offences.

Following the arrest, the fugitive was returned to the United States in the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.

'We thank our Cambodian counterparts for their professionalism and collaboration. Together, we are sending a clear message: those who attempt to evade justice will be found and held accountable,' the embassy said.
