Phnom penh: Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet has extended his heartfelt gratitude to frontline soldiers for their sacrifice in defending the nation. ‘I would like to express my deepest appreciation and gratitude to the frontline soldiers and border police who have left their families and homelands to serve and defend the motherland on all front lines,’ the Premier said in a special message released this morning.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the Prime Minister emphasized that the invaluable heroism of the soldiers and police has allowed Cambodian people across the country to celebrate the Pchum Ben Festival in peace. On this occasion, Samdech Thipadei also conveyed his best wishes to all Cambodians from all walks of life for safe travels to their hometowns, as well as good health, strength, longevity, and success in their endeavors.
Pchum Ben, one of Cambodia’s most important traditional festivals, is a time for families to reunite, perform religious rites, and honor their ancestors. This year, the festival is being observed from Sept. 21 to 23.
