New york: H.E. Ambassador Keo Chhea, Permanent Representative of Cambodia to the United Nations, on Tuesday attended and delivered a statement at the Interactive Dialogue between Member States and UN Resident Coordinators.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the event was aimed at reviewing the past progress and exchanging views on strengthening the UN development system in support of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). In the aforementioned dialogue, Ambassador Keo spoke highly of the good partnership between the Royal Government of Cambodia and the United Nations, underscoring the UN’s critical role in supporting Cambodia’s ongoing efforts to advance the SDGs and in preparing the country’s Smooth Transition Strategy for its planned graduation from the Least Developed Countries (LDCs) category by 2029.
Ambassador Keo also encouraged the UN Resident Coordinator and the UN Country Team to further enhance cooperation with Cambodia in three priority areas: (1) Sustainable financing and capacity-buildin
g to support countries preparing for LDC graduation; (2) Integrated approaches that strengthen climate resilience and digital governance, and (3) Stronger UN system coherence to ensure effective resource mobilisation.
