Phnom penh: In line with the instructions of Police Commissariat of Oddar Meanchey province, specialist forces from district and city inspectorates, together with administrative police posts, have launched daily public outreach campaigns across the province.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the campaign activities focus on educating youth and students about traffic laws, the dangers of narcotics, and the principles of the Safe Village-Commune Policy. These efforts are intended to help reduce traffic accidents, curb drug abuse, and strengthen local security.
At the same time, the police are intensifying their efforts to raise awareness about landmines and unexploded ordnance (UXO) among residents throughout the province. The initiative seeks to enhance public knowledge and vigilance, given the persistent threat UXO poses to lives and communities.
During awareness sessions, police officers urged citizens to exercise extreme caution in areas where landmines and UXO may still be present, particularly in locations that were former battlegrounds during recent conflicts between Cambodia and Thailand.
