Phnom Penh:Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Santibindit Neth Savoeun emphasized the importance of international collaboration and solidarity in the fight against cyber scams during the closing of a global conference in Phnom Penh.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the International Conference on Combating Online Scams (ICCOS-2026) took place from September 23-24 at the Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra. Delegates from 28 countries and seven international organizations attended, culminating in the adoption of the "Phnom Penh Declaration."

H.E. Neth Savoeun, who also serves as Vice Chairman of the Commission for Combating Online Scams (CCOS), lauded the partnerships and friendships formed during the conference, which aim to dismantle online scam networks. He assured that Cambodia would continue to seek further endorsements for the declaration from global governments and organizations.

He expressed gratitude to the organizing commission, INTERPOL, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Regional Office for Southeast Asia and the Pacific, and the Lancang-Mekong Integrated Law Enforcement Cooperation Centre for their contributions to the event's success.

H.E. Neth Savoeun urged delegates to convert their discussions into tangible actions, addressing operational challenges as opportunities to enhance law enforcement cooperation. He emphasized the importance of international collaboration mechanisms in realizing the goal of eradicating cybercrime.
