MELAKA FAMA TARGETS 60 MADANI AGRO SALES PROGRAMMES WITHIN SIX MONTHS

Melaka Federal Agricultural Marketing Board (FAMA) aims to organise as many as 60 Madani Agro Sales programmes throughout the state with estimated sales revenue reaching RM1 million within six months starting June.

FAMA Melaka director Hairudin Yunos said the programme would be held 10 times each month simultaneously in the three districts in the state including government complexes, retail outlets of agencies under the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, B40 housing areas, public housing projects in the city and the rural areas.

“The Madani Agro Sales programme is a rebranding of the Direct Sales from Farm (JTDL) programme which offers various fresh products such as chicken, fish and meat, controlled items such as sugar, cooking oil, flour and rice.

“All the products will be sold at cheaper prices, namely between 10 and 30 per cent less than the market prices in an effort to help ease the burden of the B40 group,” he told reporters after the Souq Subuh programme at the An-Anshariah Mosque, Lubok Redan here today.

Meanwhile, he said the Souq Subuh programme or morning market had been organised in 35 locations in Melaka with a sales value of up to RM500,000 between Jan 1 and yesterday.

“We aim to organise the Souq Subuh Programme 65 times until the end of this year in mosque and surau compounds,” he added.
