SEOUL, Korea Zinc Inc on Monday reported its fourth-quarter net profit of 192.7 billion won (US$144.8 million), down 25 percent from a year earlier.

The company said in a regulatory filing that operating profit for the October-December period rose 92.2 percent on-year to 197.2 billion won. Sales decreased 18.5 percent to 2.41 trillion won.

The earnings beat market expectations. The average estimate of net profit by analysts stood at 146.2 billion won, according to a survey by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm of Yonhap News Agency.
