Korea Contributes $500,000 in Humanitarian Aid to Cambodia Via UNICEF

Phnom penh: The Government of the Republic of Korea has provided US$500,000 in humanitarian assistance to Cambodia through the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) to help address urgent humanitarian needs arising from the recent Cambodia-Thailand border situation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation announced on the evening of Feb. 11.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the Ministry expressed its profound appreciation for the generous contribution, noting that the assistance reflects the strong solidarity and compassion shown by the Government and people of the Republic of Korea toward Cambodia and its people.

The funding will support UNICEF's relief operations on the ground, particularly for vulnerable and displaced populations affected by the situation. The Ministry further underscored that the contribution highlights the enduring friendship between Cambodia and the Republic of Korea, as well as the growing cooperation and mutual commitment underpinning their Strategic Partnership.

Cambodia also conveyed its heartfelt gratitude to other countries and international organisations that have extended humanitarian assistance to Cambodian displaced persons during this challenging period.
