French Embassy to Continue Cooperating with Information Ministry

The Embassy of France has reaffirmed to continue its cooperation with the Ministry of Information of Cambodia, especially in the fields of information and broadcasting.

H.E. Jacques Pellet, French Ambassador to Cambodia, emphasised the stance while paying a courtesy call on Cambodian Minister of Information H.E. Khieu Kanharith at the ministry this morning, H.E. Huy Saravuth, Secretary of State at the ministry told reporters after the meeting.

H.E. Ambassador highly valued the recent celebration of the World Press Freedom organised by the Ministry of Information, and expressed his intention to meet with professional media in Cambodia to exchange views and experience.

H.E. Jacques Pellet suggested to relocate the memorial to foreign and local journalists who lost their lives while covering the 1970-1975 war in Cambodia to the middle of the park in front of the Embassy of France in Phnom Penh.

In reply, H.E. Khieu Kanharith pledged to bring the request to the capital hall and briefed the ambassador of the ministry’s plan to switch from analog to digital TV by 2025.
