Phnom penh: H.E. Ms. EAT Sophea, Permanent Secretary of State and Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, received a farewell call from H.E. Jacques PELLET, Ambassador of the French Republic to the Kingdom of Cambodia, at the ministry this morning.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, during the meeting, H.E. Ms. Eat Sophea expressed sincere appreciation to H.E. Jacques PELLET for his active contribution to enhancing Cambodia-France cordial relations in both political and economic fields, as well as in supporting the socio-economic development of Cambodia. She also commended the French Ambassador for his endeavour to strengthen and expand cooperation between Cambodia and France under multilateral framework.
For his part, Ambassador Jacques PELLET expressed his pride to have contributed to the steady and notable growth of relations and cooperation between France and Cambodia during his tenure. He also thanked Cambodia for working in partnership with France in addressing various global challenges, such as ocean environment and biodiversity conservation, safe and inclusive use of artificial intelligence, campaign against malnutrition, international peacekeeping operation, and preparation for the 20th Francophonie Summit in 2026, in Cambodia.
The two sides also touched on regional and international issues of mutual concern.
