Po rieng: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior H.E. Aphi Santepundit Sar Sokha this morning praised the work of volunteer doctors for their significant role in supporting citizens and addressing public health needs alongside the Royal Government. H.E. Aphi Santepundit, who also serves as the President of the Sar Sokha Volunteer Doctors Association, made the comments while presiding over a free medical programme for residents in Po Rieng district, Prey Veng province.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, he emphasised the critical importance of regular healthcare and medical check-ups for people of all ages. The free services provide a vital opportunity for the elderly and families to consult with doctors, receive examinations, and get advice on maintaining their long-term health.
The Deputy Prime Minister also underscored the Royal Government’s commitment to the health sector, stating that under the leadership of Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, the current administration has prioritised education and health with budget allocations that exceed those for national defence and security. He said this policy reflects the Royal Government’s focus on improving public welfare.
During the event, a total of 504 residents received free general medical consultations and treatments from the volunteer association.
