COVID-19: New Omicron Cases Jump to 223

Daily Omicron cases in Cambodia jumped to 223, of which 218 were locally transmitted and 5 were imported, according to a press release of the Ministry of Health made public this morning.

The Kingdom’s COVID-19 tally thus increased to 122,206, including 1,753 Omicron cases (1,196 Omicron community cases), it pointed out.

At the same time, the ministry recorded 58 new recoveries, while zero new death was reported for 36 days in a row; therefore the total cured and death cases stood at 118,344 and 3,015, respectively.

The first COVID-19 case was detected in Cambodia in late January 2020 in Preah Sihanouk province.
