China Explores Investment Opportunities in Cambodia’s Timber Plantation

Phnom penh: The People’s Republic of China is seeking investment opportunities in Cambodia’s timber plantation industry and textile manufacturing sector. The news was revealed in a meeting between H.E. Lim Visal, Deputy Secretary General of the Investment Committee of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), and a Chinese investment delegation from Beijing city and Anhui province of China, in Phnom Penh on Aug. 13.

 

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Lim Visal highlighted Cambodia’s general investment situation, laws and regulations related to investment, the investors’ incentives, and the public and private sector dialogue mechanism to support trade and investment in the country. He also supported China’s investment intention in the above-mentioned sectors, which are aligned with the government’s policy, and encouraged the maximum production of local raw materials to increase added value and meet the export market needs.
