Cambodian Parliamentary Delegation Attends 10th Anniversary Plenary Session of the Paris Agreement

Paris: A high-level Cambodian parliamentary delegation, led by Samdech Maha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, President of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia, attended the Plenary Session marking the 10th Anniversary of the Paris Agreement. The session was part of the 8th Edition of the Paris Peace Forum held in Paris, France.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the high-level session featured distinguished speakers, including H.E. Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic, and H.E. Mia Amor Mottley, Prime Minister of Barbados. World leaders and senior representatives from international organizations and governments gathered to commemorate a decade of global climate action.

The session aimed to reinvigorate international cooperation on climate change under the theme ‘New Coalitions for Peace, People, and the Planet.’ It provided a platform to assess progress, align national climate strategies with global frameworks, and foster approaches that integrate biodiversity conservation, clean energy development, and social well-being.

Reflecting Cambodia’s strong commitment, the session highlighted the country’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and its long-term vision for carbon neutrality by 2050. Cambodia’s NDC 3.0 sets a target to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 16 percent by 2035, or up to 55 percent with international support, while increasing renewable energy use to 70 percent by 2030.

This participation underscores Cambodia’s active role in global climate governance and its ongoing cooperation with the international community to build a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable future for all.
