Cambodian Ambassador Attends ASEAN Lecture on Cybersecurity and AI in Seoul

Seoul: H.E. Khuon Phon Rattanak, Cambodia's Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, joined regional diplomats this week for a high-level lecture on the intersection of cybersecurity and artificial intelligence (AI), signaling a push for digital modernisation within the ASEAN bloc. According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the session focused on several pillars of the digital age: safe AI integration, digital ethics, and the future of building digital governments to enhance public service delivery and citizen trust. The event, held on Jan. 20, was organised by the Philippine Embassy in Seoul in its capacity as the 2026 ASEAN Chair. The keynote address was delivered by H.E. Tanel Sepp, Estonia's Ambassador to South Korea, a representative of a nation widely regarded as a global leader in e-government and digital infrastructure. The lecture drew a significant gathering of the ASEAN diplomatic corps, including ambassadors, chargés d'affaires, and senior diplomats from across the 11-member bloc.
