Cambodia to Uphold Ceasefire and Address Thailand Border Issue Peacefully

Phnom penh: Acting Head of State Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen has reaffirmed Cambodia’s dedication to maintaining the ceasefire with Thailand and resolving the ongoing border dispute through peaceful means to restore normalcy in bilateral relations.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the reaffirmation was made during a meeting with a delegation from the Parliamentary Federation for World Peace (PFWP) Malaysia, led by Chairman H.E. Datuk Wira Mohd Hatta Bin Md Ramli, at the Senate Palace in Phnom Penh. Samdech Techo Hun Sen expressed gratitude towards Malaysia, particularly Prime Minister H.E. Anwar Ibrahim, for playing a swift and proactive role in mediating the Cambodia-Thailand border issue.

H.E. Datuk Wira Mohd Hatta Bin Md Ramli, also a Senator, thanked Samdech Techo for providing a clear explanation of both the historical and current aspects of the border dispute. He expressed hope for a peaceful resolution to the conflict and lasting peace between the two neighboring nations.

The PFWP Malaysia Chairman also commended Cambodia’s progress and development, highlighting his positive impression of the Kingdom’s new Techo International Airport, which he noted as a reflection of Cambodia’s advancement.
