Cambodia to Host Major Job Fairs with 86,000 Vacancies in Kratie and Kampong Thom

Cambodia: Cambodia's Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training is set to launch a large-scale employment drive this weekend, offering more than 86,000 job opportunities targeted at returning migrant workers and local youth.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the career fairs are scheduled for Feb. 14-15 and aim to provide immediate employment solutions for workers recently returned from Thailand, as well as job seekers in the provinces of Kratie and Kampong Thom. H.E. Sun Mesa, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training, stated that the forums will allow candidates to apply directly and undergo on-site interviews with representatives from major factories and enterprises.

The events will run from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at four strategic locations: Saturday, Feb 14, at Snuol District Office in Kratie and Prasat Balaing District Office in Kampong Thom, and Sunday, Feb 15, at Chhlong District Office in Kratie and Staung District Office in Kampong Thom. "This initiative is designed to bridge the gap between major employers and those seeking to reintegrate into the local workforce," the spokesperson said.

To encourage participation, the Ministry is providing free transport, food, and beverages for returning migrant workers attending the events. In addition to immediate job placements, attendees can register for free technical and vocational training programmes and receive briefings on the benefits of the national social security system.
