Cambodia Presses Thailand for Prompt Action on Border Demarcation Agreement

Phnom penh: Cambodia has called on Thailand to continue upholding and fully implementing the agreements reached under the Joint Statement of the 3rd Special General Border Committee Meeting, following the ceasefire agreed in December 2025.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet emphasized the importance of adhering to the agreements reached during the 3rd Special General Border Committee Meeting between Cambodia and Thailand on December 27, 2025. The Prime Minister, through a statement on his official social media platforms, highlighted that both nations have consistently declared their respect and commitment to these agreements since the ceasefire in December.

In this context, Cambodia expressed strong hope that the Joint Border Commissions of both countries can begin implementing the works, as agreed in Point Number 3 of the Joint Statement, quickly and with sincerity. The goal is to properly and clearly demarcate their border in a peaceful manner. The Cambodian Premier underscored that this progress will serve as a foundation for long-lasting peace, allowing citizens living along the shared border to coexist peacefully.
