Phnom penh: Cambodia and Myanmar have reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening cooperation at bilateral, regional, and global levels during talks between Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet and Myanmar President H.E. U Min Aung Hlaing. The discussions took place at the Peace Palace amidst H.E. U Min Aung Hlaing's two-day State Visit to Cambodia, at the invitation of His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the meeting underscored the enduring friendship and cooperative relations between the two nations. Prime Minister Hun Manet extended a warm welcome to the Myanmar President and his delegation, highlighting that the visit reflects the robust ties between Cambodia and Myanmar. In response, President U Min Aung Hlaing expressed gratitude for the hospitality and acknowledged Cambodia's rapid development, particularly noting the transformation since his last visit in 2017.

The Myanmar President praised Cambodia as a steadfast ally in ASEAN and international settings, especially during Cambodia's ASEAN Chairmanship in 2022. Both leaders discussed enhancing bilateral cooperation in key sectors such as economy, trade, tourism, security, education, and technology-related crime prevention.

They also focused on strengthening mutual support within regional and international frameworks, committing to collaborative efforts in combating transnational crimes, including human trafficking, drug trafficking, and cybercrime. The meeting concluded with the signing of four cooperation documents aimed at eliminating double taxation, promoting investment, and enhancing cultural and media cooperation.
