Phnom penh: The Kingdom of Cambodia and the Republic of the Union of Myanmar have signed four documents aimed at further strengthening the cooperation between the two countries in key areas. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet and Myanmar President H.E. U Min Aung Hlaing, following their bilateral meeting at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh on Friday afternoon.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the four signed documents include an agreement for the elimination of double taxation with respect to taxes on income and the prevention of tax evasion and avoidance. Another agreement focuses on the reciprocal promotion and protection of investments between the two countries. Additionally, an amendment to the existing agreement on cultural cooperation has been made, involving the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts of Cambodia and the Ministry of Culture, Hotels and Tourism of Myanmar. Finally, a memorandum of understanding on media and information cooperation has been established.

H.E. U Min Aung Hlaing arrived in Cambodia this morning for a two-day state visit, at the invitation of His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia.
