Cambodia Looks Ahead to Hosting Asian Youth Games

After concluding the 32nd SEA Games, Cambodia is concentrating on the preparation of the Asian Youth Games in 2029.

An official agreement to host the youth games was signed recently by Minister of Tourism H.E. Dr. Thong Khon in his capacity as the President of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC) and H.E. Khuong Sreng, Governor of Phnom Penh, representing the host capital.

The agreement followed a decision at the 40th General Assembly of the Olympic Council of Asia in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on Nov. 21, 2021 where Cambodia was chosen to host the youth games.

Sport contingents from all 45 Asian countries are expected to join the 2029 Asian Youth Games.

Participating Asian athletes, including Cambodian team, aged between 15 and 17 years will compete under 10-15 sports categories.

It will be another historic event for Cambodia and all players are committed to get well prepared for it.
