Cambodia Dismisses Thailand’s Baseless and Inflammatory Mine Allegations

Cambodia: Cambodia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a statement regarding Thailand’s baseless allegations relating to recent landmine explosions and threats against Cambodian sovereignty.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs made the statement public this evening, strongly refuting the claims made by Thailand. The statement emphasizes that the allegations are unfounded and serve only to provoke tension between the two nations.

The Ministry highlighted the importance of maintaining diplomatic relations and urged Thailand to engage in constructive dialogue to resolve any misunderstandings. The statement also reiterated Cambodia’s commitment to peace and stability in the region, emphasizing that the country has always adhered to international laws and agreements regarding border management and landmine clearance.

The response from Cambodia comes amid rising tensions in the region, with both countries having a history of disputes over border demarcations. The Ministry’s statement seeks to de-escalate the situation by calling for calm and cooperation between the neighboring countries.
