Cambodia Commends China’s Role in Promoting Peace with Thailand

Phnom penh: Cambodia deeply appreciates China for its active contribution and constructive role in fostering peace and dialogue between Cambodia and Thailand. The remarks were underscored by H.E. PRAK Sokhonn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia, in a telephone conversation with H.E. WANG Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China, on the afternoon of Dec. 18.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, during the call, H.E. PRAK Sokhonn briefed his Chinese counterpart on the latest developments of the escalating Cambodia-Thailand border conflict. He further reiterated Cambodia's commitment to the ceasefire agreement, measures for de-escalation, and the peaceful settlement of disputes agreed by both sides, including in Kuala Lumpur on Dec. 26, 2025.

Besides, the two sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and advancing the building of the all-weather Cambodia-China Community with a Shared Future in the New Era.
