Phnom penh: Cambodia will launch a pilot visa exemption programme for Chinese nationals travelling from China for a four-month period in 2026. The pilot policy will allow Chinese tourists to stay in Cambodia for up to 14 days during the four-month period from June 15 to Oct. 15, 2026, without requiring a visa application or any fees.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Chinese visitors will only need to complete an e-arrival card and may enter Cambodia multiple times during the pilot period. At the same time, the Royal Government has authorised the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation to request and negotiate with the Chinese Government to ease visa procedures for Cambodian travellers to China, with the long-term goal of achieving full visa exemption.
Official data indicates that Cambodia welcomed approximately 889,000 Chinese tourists in the first nine months of this year, marking an increase of 46.3 percent compared to the same period last year. They accounted for 20.3 percent of the total 4.37 million foreign arrivals to Cambodia during the period.
