Cambodia: Cambodia and Pakistan have agreed in principle to conduct talks on establishing a bilateral trade agreement, aiming to deepen trade and investment cooperation between the two countries. This development follows a meeting between H.E. Mrs. Cham Nimul, Cambodian Minister of Commerce, and H.E. Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, held on February 10 in Islamabad.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the discussions centered on exploring opportunities and mechanisms to enhance cooperation and expand trade volume between the nations. The focus was on utilizing the Cambodia-Pakistan Joint Committee mechanism and preparing specific action plans for mutual benefit. The Cambodian Minister emphasized the importance of these mechanisms in fostering increased trade and investment.

During the meeting, H.E. Mrs. Cham Nimul briefed the Deputy Prime Minister on her discussions with the Pakistani private sector. Key stakeholders involved included the Pakistan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association, the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry, and the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry. These discussions were aimed at identifying potential areas for collaboration and investment.

H.E. Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar praised the cooperation between Cambodia and Pakistan, recognizing Cambodia as a "good partner and long-term friend." He pointed out that both countries possess many complementary sectors that can be utilized to access each other's markets effectively. This sentiment highlights the potential for growth and collaboration between the two nations.
