Nicosia: Cambodia and Cyprus have committed to deepening bilateral ties across key economic sectors following high-level diplomatic talks in Nicosia on Wednesday. H.E. Dr. Chea Chanboribo, Cambodia's Ambassador to the Republic of Cyprus, met with Cypriot Minister of Energy, Commerce, and Industry H.E. Michael Damianos to outline a framework for expanded cooperation in energy, trade, investment, and industrial development.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, both officials signaled a desire to transition from traditional diplomatic relations to more robust technical and commercial exchanges. Ambassador Dr. Chanboribo briefed the Cypriot Minister on Cambodia's evolving investment laws and the Royal Government's initiatives to provide incentives for foreign capital.

The Cambodian side proposed formal mechanisms for exchanging technology and expertise, particularly in the energy and industrial sectors. Both parties agreed to explore the organisation of bilateral business forums to connect private enterprises from both nations.

Minister Damianos affirmed the Ministry's readiness to facilitate these partnerships, noting that Cyprus is prepared to support stakeholders in streamlining trade and investment flows. The meeting was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere and yielded positive outcomes, reflecting mutual understanding and a shared commitment to strengthening and sustaining the relations and mutual benefits between the two countries.
