Cambodia: Cambodia and Brunei Darussalam have planned to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in the near future to strengthen their bilateral tourism cooperation. During their recent working meeting on the sidelines of the ASEAN Tourism Ministers’ Retreat in Melaka city, Malaysia, H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism of Cambodia, and Dato Dr. Abdul Manaf Metussin, Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism of Brunei Darussalam, agreed to sign the MoU either in Cambodia or during the ASEAN Tourism Forum 2026 in Cebu, the Philippines.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, both Ministers expect that the signing of this MoU will further boost the flow of tourists between the two countries. The two sides also agreed to actively promote Muslim tourism, as well as to enhance the promotion and marketing of potential tourism destinations between the two countries. In this regard, they shared the view that people-to-people exchanges require enhanced direct air connectivity between the two nations.
