ARDB, Financial Institutions Sign Subsidiary Loan Agreement to Support Agricultural Sector

The Agricultural and Rural Development Bank has signed the Subsidiary Loan Agreement with three participating financial institutions (PFIs) to support the agricultural diversification value chain.

The signing ceremony was held here on Aug. 15 by H.E. Kao Thach, Royal Government Delegate in charge as CEO of ARDB and representatives of the three PFIs, namely Cambodia Post bank Plc., Chamroeun Microfinance Plc., and AMK Microfinance Plc.

Under the project, ARDB provides US$30 million loans to the three PFIs who will provide sub-loans to target beneficiaries such as smallholder farmers, small- and medium-seized agribusinesses, agricultural cooperatives and producer organisations for all agricultural produces except rice.

“This project mainly aims to promote financial inclusion and support the agricultural diversification value chain,” read a statement.

The project is implemented in Phnom Penh and other 12 provinces –Battambang, Mondulkiri, Stung Treng, Rattanakiri, Preah Vihear, Siem Reap, Thbong Khmum, Kratie, Kampong Cham, Kandal, Kampong Speu, and Kampong Chnnang.
