Phnom penh: A delegation from Cambodia’s Ministry of Information is visiting Vietnam from Sept. 28 to Oct. 4, 2025, to strengthen cooperation in digital media, information technology, and cultural exchange. Led by H.E. In Chhay, Under Secretary of State at the Ministry of Information, the ten-member delegation from the Ministry’s five General Departments met with Mr. Nguyen Duc Cuong, Deputy Director of Ninh Binh Provincial Department of Culture and Sports, and Mr. Nguyen Cao Tan, Deputy Director of Ninh Binh Provincial Department of Tourism, along with Ninh Binh Newspaper, TV and Radio on Sept. 29 evening to discuss digital transformation, human resource development, and strategies for modern journalism.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the shares focused on experience in tackling misinformation, including the use of AI monitoring systems, a national fact-checking centre, and citizen hotlines to report false content. Vietnamese experts also underlined the balance between digital innovation and traditional journalism.
H.E. In Chhay expressed gratitude for Vietnam’s support, noting that Cambodia could learn valuable lessons from these practices. He also stressed the importance of balancing digital innovation with traditional journalism, ensuring newspapers remain relevant while journalists are trained in both AI-driven and conventional reporting.
The Cambodian delegation will continue its seven-day programme with workshops and field visits to Hanoi, Ninh Binh, and Quang Ninh.
