Air Cambodia Launches Direct Phnom Penh-Tokyo Flight Service

Phnom penh: Air Cambodia, the national flag carrier, has announced the official launch of a new flight route connecting Phnom Penh, Fuzhou, and Tokyo (PNH-FOC-NRT), starting Oct. 26, 2025. ‘This is part of a strategic initiative to improve their networking and operations with the new Air Cambodia identity in Southeast Asia,’ the airline underlined yesterday.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Air Cambodia will be the first carrier to operate a direct connection from Phnom Penh to Japan via Fuzhou. The inaugural flight will depart Phnom Penh on Oct. 26 at 09:45 and arrive in Tokyo at 19:00. The return flight will leave Tokyo at 20:00 and land in Phnom Penh at 03:00 the following day.

The route will be operated three times per week, every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. Passengers may book tickets for travel from Tokyo to Phnom Penh, as well as from Fuzhou to Tokyo and Fuzhou to Phnom Penh.

The airline expects the new route to significantly boost tourist arrivals. According to the Ministry of Tourism, Cambodia welcomed 112,718 Japanese visitors in 2024, marking a 30 percent increase from 84,411 in 2023.

Direct flights between Cambodia and Japan were previously operated by All Nippon Airways (ANA), but the service was suspended during the COVID-19 pandemic.
