Phnom penh: The majority of displaced people have returned to their homes, with only 13 percent still unable to do so, according to a news release issued by the Ministry of Interior on Monday.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the ministry reported that approximately 560,000 people, which accounts for nearly 87 percent of the more than 640,000 displaced individuals, have successfully returned to their respective homes.
As of now, 86,271 displaced individuals, including 45,305 women and 28,012 children, remain unable to return home, the release added. In response, relevant authorities are collaborating to provide temporary shelter and necessary assistance to those who continue to be displaced.
Moreover, 48 schools and 22 hospitals and health centers in the provinces of Oddar Meanchey, Banteay Meanchey, and Preah Vihear remain suspended as part of the ongoing efforts to manage the situation.
