Camagüey:The University of Camagüey is focusing on the export of academic services as a strategic initiative to contribute to the collection of foreign exchange, aligning with Cuba's economic policy priorities.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the university has strengthened its international relations over the past decade, leading to an income of over 140 thousand dollars primarily through collaborations with institutions in the Dominican Republic and Mexico. This initiative aims to diversify income sources and enhance opportunities for academic cooperation.
The strategy includes bolstering international relations with countries such as Spain, Belgium, Russia, China, and Brazil. These efforts involve joint projects, scientific exchanges, and both undergraduate and postgraduate training programs. The rector, Julio Cesar Madera, emphasized that these partnerships enhance the research and teaching capabilities of the university while promoting the transfer of knowledge and experiences in fields like renewable energies, artificial intelligence, and sustainable food production.
Furthermore, the university is strengthening its collaboration with the government and other local economic and social actors. This initiative aims to leverage the scientific and professional expertise of the institution to support local development. Efforts to upgrade curricula and diversify academic services are aligned with both domestic needs and the opportunities presented by international partnerships.
