Prime Minister Hun Manet Expresses Gratitude for Successful Khmer New Year Celebrations

Phnom penh: Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, has expressed gratitude to all relevant institutions and individuals whose efforts helped ensure that this year's Khmer New Year celebrations were held in a joyful, peaceful, and safe atmosphere nationwide. According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the Prime Minister conveyed his appreciation through a social media message on Friday morning, highlighting the smooth proceedings of the traditional holiday. The celebrations were marked by smiles, family reunions, religious ceremonies, traditional games, and cultural performances across Phnom Penh and all provinces. He expressed thanks to provincial and municipal authorities, national working groups, ministries, institutions, and security forces for their roles in maintaining safety and public order for citizens and tourists throughout the festivities. The Prime Minister also acknowledged the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia (UYFC), volunteers, sanitation workers, environmental staff, drivers, and other support teams for their contributions in organizing Sankranta events in Phnom Penh and across the country. He emphasized that their participation was instrumental in promoting Khmer culture, preserving national identity, and bringing joy to families during the holiday period. Furthermore, the Prime Minister paid tribute to the armed forces stationed across the country and to displaced citizens residing in temporary shelters arranged by the Royal Government. As the holiday period comes to an end, he advised citizens to travel safely back to their workplaces and hometowns, urging strict adherence to traffic laws. He also noted that Phnom Penh municipal buses continue to provide free public transport services to help reduce travel costs and enhance safety.
