Phnom penh: Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, has instructed all relevant ministries and institutions to pay the utmost attention to the quality control of medicines and cosmetics, including skin-care products, to prevent potential harm to consumers' health. The Prime Minister made the instruction while presiding over the official inauguration of Luong Me Hospital, a specialised cancer treatment hospital located in Sangkat Prey Sar, Khan Dangkor district, Phnom Penh, this morning.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet emphasized the necessity for medicines and skin-care products to be carefully examined to ensure their quality, noting that such measures would benefit both sellers and consumers. He elaborated that some sellers may not be aware of the quality of the products they sell or the potential health risks, as they are not the manufacturers and often acquire products through successive online transactions.

The Prime Minister asserted that all relevant ministries and institutions, including the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Commerce, must ensure clear and effective management of this issue. He highlighted the importance of holding companies and individuals accountable for the health and lives of consumers, stating that making a profit should not come at the expense of public health.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet further underscored that while other matters may be open to discussion and compromise, issues affecting the health and lives of people require clarity and strict accountability.
