MLVT Launches NSSF Self-Service Machines to Boost Efficiency and Transparency

Phnom penh: The Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training (MLVT) has launched 32 self-service machines for members of the National Social Security Fund (NSSF), with a move aimed at improving the speed, transparency and convenience of public service delivery. The machines, which have been installed across 12 national hospitals, enable NSSF cardholders to independently print service forms at designated partner health facilities, reducing the need for manual processing.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the Ministry's spokesman H.E. Sun Mesa highlighted that this initiative marks a significant step towards modernising service delivery within the NSSF system. He stated that the launch of these machines is an important step in accelerating the delivery of public services, making them faster, more efficient, more transparent, and more convenient for members.

He further explained that the system is designed to cut waiting times while also strengthening safeguards against misuse. The initiative not only reduces waiting times but also helps prevent fraud, ensuring that NSSF members receive services properly.

The Ministry notes that the machines offer several advantages, including the ability for members to print their own service forms quickly and reliably, ensuring timely access to healthcare without missing scheduled checks. The system also curbs fraudulent practices such as the misuse of NSSF cards by relatives or acquaintances.

Additionally, services are provided on a first-come, first-served basis, streamlining patient flow at hospitals. The machines eliminate the need for repeated registration at health facilities and are expected to support more flexible payment processes once systems are fully integrated.

This rollout is part of broader government efforts to digitalise public services and enhance efficiency within Cambodia's social protection framework.
