Ministry, Large South Korean Firm Join Hands to Develop Cambodia’s Industrial Human Resources

The Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training and Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. of South Korea have agreed on a collaboration on human resources development in Cambodia’s industrial sector.

The decision was reached in a meeting between H.E. Heng Suor, Minister of Labour and Vocational Training, H.E. Park Jung Wook, newly-appointed Ambassador of South Korea to Cambodia, and Mr. Kim Dong Il, Senior Managing Director of Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd., here in Phnom Penh on Nov. 16.

The two sides agreed to train Cambodian citizens in heavy industry in the potential shipbuilding production chain.

H.E. Heng Suor thanked the Government of South Korea and the company for the training opportunity for Cambodians and affirmed that the ministry is ready to support the firm’s operation in Cambodia.

H.E. Park Jung Wook underlined that the training will be essential to further promote intimate and deeper relations, both economic and people-to-people, between the two countries.

Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. is a subsidiary of the world-known company “Hyundai Group,” established in 1972.
