Luxury Agarwood Souvenirs to Target Arab Tourists

Phnom penh: H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, recently met with Oknha Dr. Nang Sothy, Chairman of THY HOLDING CO., LTD., and his team to discuss a project focused on developing luxury souvenirs crafted from agarwood. These souvenirs, which include perfumes and cosmetics, are specifically aimed at attracting Arab tourists to Cambodia.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, during the meeting, the Chairman of THY HOLDING CO., LTD. outlined the company's strategy to convert agarwood into high-end tourist souvenirs. The initiative includes opening luxury souvenir stores in Cambodia, showcasing agarwood-based products, and planning future agro-tourism projects.

H.E. Huot Hak praised the company's investment plan, noting its alignment with the Ministry of Tourism's Muslim Tourism Development Plan for 2023-2027. He emphasized the importance of collaboration with relevant ministries and institutions to promote halal food and establish 'Cambodia Muslim Friendly' standards.

The Minister expressed his appreciation for the company's previous efforts and highlighted the potential of the investment project to enhance the tourism sector. This initiative is expected to significantly contribute to promoting Muslim tourism and attracting more Muslim visitors to Cambodia.
